With the idea that getting to my desired mastered rms level of about -11db I'd have that -6db peak level buffer to master with and I wouldn't be cranking the mix hard through a limiter. You might be able to mess with the buffer on the VST to improve the latency but I didn't find it enough of a problem to warrant that. I'm not entirely sure how the plugin works... The bottom of the box says that WaveOut is chosen by default for better compatibility. The manual doesn't have directions for WaveOut, though and suggests ASIO.
