WebFeb 8, 2024 · Children and young people’s mental health services (CYPMHS) have long been regarded as a ‘Cinderella’ service: poorly funded and with long waits for those referred. However, over recent years, policymakers have been increasingly recognising and prioritising children and young people’s mental health. WebNHS CAMHS teams are made up of nurses, therapists, psychologists, child and adolescent psychiatrists (medical doctors specialising in mental health), support works and social workers, and other professionals. CAHMS are usually arranged by tiers or levels of support. Tier 1 . Universal services: Initial concerns and include GPs and health visitors.
